About the role
We are seeking a Mechanical Technician to join a leading research facility in Bedford. The role involves maintaining heavy plant equipment and ensuring smooth operation of the site on a rotating shift pattern.
Key responsibilities
- Perform mechanical maintenance on heavy plant machinery.
- Monitor equipment performance and carry out corrective actions.
- Support the facility’s day‑to‑day operations to minimise downtime.
- Work within a rotating shift schedule (6am‑2pm, 2pm‑10pm) with optional overtime.
Required profile
- Relevant mechanical qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a heavy plant environment.
- Holder of a British passport and able to pass security clearance.
