Mechanical Technician

About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to carry out planned and responsive maintenance across a range of mechanical systems and equipment in a busy working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative and responsive mechanical maintenance.
• Respond promptly to plant and equipment failures to minimise downtime.
• Maintain and repair mechanical systems, including pressure, steam, piped gas, water, HVAC and building services.
• Support maintenance of automatic doors and other mechanical equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections, issue and accept permits, and work with contractors and sub‑contractors.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician or similar maintenance role.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently, flexibly and as part of a team.
• Strong understanding of health, safety and compliance requirements.

Required skills

• Practical mechanical maintenance and repair.
• Fault‑finding and problem‑solving.
• Experience with pressure systems, steam and/or piped gas.
• Knowledge of water, HVAC and building services systems.

What we offer

• Salary of £35,000 per annum.
• 37.5 hours per week, full‑time permanent contract.
