Mechanical Technician Line

About the role

The Mechanical Technician works in a base maintenance environment, undertaking detailed maintenance on an aircraft or aircraft component. The post holder understands the approved Technical Information set well enough to work unaided to approved data and maintenance instructions in line with the organisation's Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE), and can guide less experienced team members.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out tasked maintenance and diagnostics on aircraft systems and components, including ground handling, flight servicing, role changes, component removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectification, replacements and functional tests.
• Analyse and diagnose faults, follow diagnostic procedures and work within a team.
• Maintain personal task authorisations for working on aircraft or components and ensure maintenance is done to schedule, escalating issues as needed.
• Deliver Part 145 activities to targets, document them correctly and keep airworthiness records up to date.
• Comply with the Part 145 Exposition, its procedures and standards, and propose changes where needed.
• Apply Human Factors and Error Management principles, and ensure Part 145 activities meet the AM&S governance and assurance framework, including audit support and improvement monitoring.
• Understand and apply the Continuing Airworthiness regulatory framework and other requirements such as ITAR, EaPW and ISO, and support regulatory and contractual changes.

Required profile

• Experienced and skilled technician with a good understanding of the approved Technical Information set.
• Able to work unaided to approved data and maintenance instructions.
• Flexible, proactive attitude and ability to take direction appropriately.
