Mechanical Trainer/Coach – Full Training Provided

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Engineer, Machinist or Engineering Technician to transition into a coaching role. You will mentor apprentices across a range of mechanical engineering standards, helping them apply classroom learning to real‑world tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Support and assess engineering apprentices in the workplace.
• Plan and review individual learning plans with learners and employers.
• Monitor progress, provide timely guidance and ensure compliance with apprenticeship standards.
• Visit apprentices on‑site every 6‑8 weeks and offer remote support between visits.
• Liaise with employers, acting as the primary contact for apprentice development.

Required profile

• Background as a Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Engineer, Machinist or Engineering Technician.
• Desire to move off the tools into a coaching and mentoring role.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.

Required skills

• Practical experience in mechanical engineering, fitting or machining.
• Understanding of Level 2/3 engineering apprenticeship standards.
