Medical Secretary

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Medical Secretary to provide professional and comprehensive administrative support to consultants and clinical teams within the NHS. The role involves managing a range of secretarial duties while ensuring high standards of accuracy and confidentiality.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver administrative and secretarial services to consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
• Perform accurate audio typing and maintain up‑to‑date records.
• Utilise Microsoft Word and Excel for document preparation and data management.
• Apply knowledge of NHS waiting times and, where possible, NHS systems and processes.
• Work flexibly both independently and as part of a team to meet service demands.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a medical secretary or in a similar administrative role.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Competent audio typist with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
• English language proficiency sufficient for safe and effective performance.
