Membership Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Membership Manager to lead the membership and registration function of a professional membership organisation based in Central London. Reporting to the Head of Registration, you will oversee day‑to‑day operations, maintain accurate member records and drive continuous improvement while managing a small team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and schedule the Membership team to meet service standards.
• Handle membership and registration enquiries, providing a responsive, solutions‑focused service.
• Coordinate annual renewal processes together with Finance and Customer Service.
• Conduct audits, quality checks and data‑cleansing to ensure record integrity.
• Identify and implement improvements to systems, processes and service delivery.
• Manage small‑scale projects and process‑improvement initiatives.
• Act as the primary contact for professional conduct and membership queries.
• Serve as Risk Management Champion and CPD Lead for the department.
• Produce and analyse management information to support operational decisions.

Required profile

• Previous people‑management experience, ideally leading a small team.
• Proven ability to manage a varied workload and meet competing deadlines.
• Strong customer‑service orientation with a solutions‑focused approach.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• High attention to detail and strong writing abilities.

Required skills

• Experience with databases and CRM systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
