Mental Health Assistant (Full‑Time) – Newbury

About the role
Join an inclusive SEN school in Newbury as a Mental Health Assistant, providing hands‑on emotional and behavioural support to children aged 5‑16 with neuro‑diverse needs such as Autism and ADHD. This full‑time position offers a practical entry point for graduates eager to start a career in mental health, therapy, or child development.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver tailored emotional and behavioural support to pupils, helping them regulate feelings and engage with learning.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and SEN professionals to implement personalised support plans.
- Assist in creating a safe, inclusive classroom environment that promotes confidence and wellbeing.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, sharing observations with the multidisciplinary team.
Required profile
- Recent graduate or final‑year student in Psychology, Counselling, Education, Criminology or related field.
- Passion for supporting children with emotional, behavioural, or neuro‑diverse needs.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Required skills
- Understanding of basic mental‑health concepts and child development.
What we offer
- Competitive daily rate of £90‑£105.
- Full‑time schedule: Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am‑3:30 pm.
