Mental Health Assistant (Full‑time) – Reading

About the role
We are seeking a compassionate Mental Health Assistant to join an inclusive SEN school in Reading. You will work directly with children aged 5‑11 who experience mental health and behavioural challenges, helping them feel safe, supported and able to learn.
Key responsibilities
- Support pupils during classroom activities and individual learning sessions.
- Promote emotional wellbeing and help manage challenging behaviours.
- Build trusting relationships with each child, ensuring they feel valued.
- Collaborate with teachers and specialist staff to implement personalised support plans.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive environment throughout the school day.
Required profile
- Passion for supporting the mental health of young people.
- Interest in special‑needs education or a related field such as psychology, therapy or teaching.
- Ability to work effectively with children aged 5‑11 in a school setting.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

What we offer
- Full‑time, Monday‑Friday schedule (8:30 am – 3:30 pm).
- Competitive daily rate of £90‑£105.
