Mental Health Practitioner – Recovery Service Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, proactive Mental Health Practitioner to lead our Recovery Service in Whalley Range, Manchester. You will manage a dedicated team delivering person‑centred care to individuals with enduring mental health needs and a learning disability, helping them develop skills for independent living.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Service Manager in line‑managing a multidisciplinary team.
• Conduct holistic assessments and create personalised support plans.
• Maintain accurate records using the ECCO system.
• Ensure safe administration of medicines and compliance with mental health legislation.
• Collaborate with families, mental health professionals and external agencies.
• Work flexibly on a rota system, including shift work.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of practitioner experience in mental health.
• Knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and care standards.
• Strong communication, customer care and risk‑management abilities.
• Demonstrated compassion, empathy and a commitment to safeguarding vulnerable individuals.
• Supervisory or management experience and relevant qualifications are desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the ECCO case‑management system.
