Mental Health Support Assistant – Kidlington (Full‑time)

About the role
This full‑time position supports children and young people in a specialist school who experience anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD and other mental health challenges. You will work directly with students to help them manage emotions, settle into routines and create a safe learning environment. The role offers immediate start options, with the possibility of beginning in September.
Key responsibilities
- Provide day‑to‑day emotional and mental health support to children and young people with anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD and related conditions.
- Help students settle into routines, minimise triggering situations and promote a safe learning environment.
- Assist teachers and senior staff in implementing individual support plans.
- Monitor student wellbeing and report concerns to designated professionals.
- Shadow qualified psychologists, teachers or therapists to develop sector knowledge.
Required profile
- Experience or voluntary work with vulnerable children or young people.
- Interest in mental health, psychology or education.
- Ability to work calmly in challenging situations.
- Willingness to start ASAP or in September.
