MGV Driver (Part‑time)

About the role

As a member of Royal Mail's driving team in Bristol, you will be the public face of the service, delivering bulk and standard mail across the community. The role involves a mix of driving, loading, unloading and sorting to ensure timely distribution.

Key responsibilities

• Drive a van on pre‑arranged routes, collecting bulk mail from major customers and post offices.
• Transport mail between the Bristol Mail Centre and delivery offices.
• Load, unload and sort mail within the vehicle for correct onward distribution.
• Adhere to scheduled pick‑up and drop‑off times and maintain accurate records using a digital tachograph.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report any issues promptly.

Required profile

• Upbeat, self‑motivated and comfortable working alone or as part of a team.
• Strong sense of community and willingness to work flexible shift patterns.
• Enjoy outdoor work and physical activity, as each round involves walking.
• Previous customer‑facing experience is desirable.

Required skills

• C1 Category driving licence (UK address) with no more than 6 penalty points and no TT99 endorsement.
• Periodic Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) qualification.
• Valid Drivers Qualification Card (DQC) with at least 35 hours of training.
• Digital Tachograph Card to be presented at assessment.
