Microsoft Security Consultant – Remote 6‑Month Contract

About the role

We are seeking a Microsoft Security Consultant to work on a six‑month, fully remote contract. The consultant will bring deep expertise in Microsoft Sentinel, Defender XDR and Azure security to design, implement and optimise enterprise‑grade detection and response solutions while advising clients on Zero Trust and secure‑by‑design strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and deliver Microsoft Defender XDR solutions, running workshops to define end‑to‑end security strategies aligned with Zero Trust principles.
• Lead Microsoft Sentinel implementations, including data connector configuration, KQL analytics rule development, Logic Apps playbook automation and SIEM tuning.
• Assess and optimise client Defender XDR and Sentinel configurations, producing remediation and maturity roadmaps based on Microsoft, CIS, NIST and MITRE ATT&CK frameworks.
• Advise on integration of Defender XDR, Sentinel and Entra ID, supporting migrations from legacy SIEM platforms such as Splunk.
• Collaborate with SOC and Incident Response teams during escalated incidents, onboarding critical assets and integrating data sources for containment and investigation.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering Microsoft security solutions at enterprise scale.
• Strong client‑facing and advisory skills, with a track record of running workshops and mentoring engineers across EMEA and North America.
• Ability to translate complex security requirements into practical, scalable architectures.

What we offer

• £450 per day rate (outside IR35)
