MIG Welder – 6‑Month Contract – Peterlee, County Durham

About the role

We are seeking an experienced MIG Welder for a six‑month contract at Caterpillar's award‑winning manufacturing site in Peterlee, County Durham. You will join a skilled team building articulated trucks for global mining and construction projects, working in a modern, safe facility with excellent transport links.

Key responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on high‑precision metal components for articulated trucks.
• Follow engineering drawings and welding procedures to ensure product quality.
• Maintain welding equipment and adhere to health and safety standards.
• Collaborate with fabricators and fitters to complete assemblies on schedule.
• Participate in shift rotations, including weekends, to meet production targets.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a MIG welder in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to work rotating shift patterns, including Saturdays and Sundays.
• Ability to travel to the Peterlee site and comply with on‑site safety protocols.
