Military Medical Examiner

About the role

The Military Medical Examiner will conduct medical assessments for prospective Royal Marines recruits on behalf of the Ministry of Defence. Working part‑time at the CTCRM Lympstone site, you will help determine candidates' medical suitability for elite training.

Key responsibilities

• Review Pre‑Joining Health Questionnaires and optician reports to identify relevant medical history.
• Conduct face‑to‑face, head‑to‑toe examinations and discuss health history with candidates.
• Assess medical fitness against MoD standards and provide clear recommendations.
• Refer complex or borderline cases to senior Naval medical officers for specialist input.
• Communicate outcomes to candidates promptly and professionally.

Required profile

• Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
• Active participation in GMC appraisal and revalidation processes.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities.
• Team‑player capable of working alongside other clinicians.
