Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer (Reading region)

About the role

This is a mobile Field Maintenance HVAC Engineer position covering a portfolio of large retail sites across the Reading area. You will work independently to keep commercial air‑conditioning and HVAC systems safe, compliant and running efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on commercial HVAC and air‑conditioning equipment.
• Diagnose faults, perform fault‑finding and complete repairs on split systems, VRF/VRV units and packaged plant.
• Maintain Airedale and DX cooling systems and keep accurate service reports and compliance documentation.
• Support wider building‑maintenance tasks when required and participate in the regional on‑call rota.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HVAC, Air‑Conditioning or Field Service Engineer.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage your own workload and liaise professionally with customers.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.
• Good understanding of health‑and‑safety and regulatory compliance.

Required skills

• Fault finding and diagnostic techniques.
• Split‑system, VRF/VRV and packaged unit servicing.
• Airedale and DX cooling system knowledge.
• F‑Gas handling certification (advantageous).
