Mobile Asphalt/Concrete Batcher – Daviot Quarry

About the role

Breedon Group is looking for a Mobile Asphalt/Concrete Batcher to join its Daviot Quarry & Asphalt Plant in Inverness. Reporting to the Quarry Manager, you will operate the mobile batching plant, ensure product quality and support plant maintenance in a safe, environmentally‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and control mobile concrete and asphalt batching plants according to production schedules.
• Batch materials accurately to meet approved mix‑design specifications.
• Monitor plant performance – temperatures, moisture, slump, output – and record production data.
• Carry out routine inspections, basic preventative maintenance and adjust plant settings for quality and efficiency.
• Coordinate with quarry operatives, drivers and site supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
• Identify and report plant faults, breakdown risks or material issues promptly.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards and comply with health, safety, environmental and quality regulations.

Required profile

• Previous experience operating mobile concrete and/or asphalt batching plants in a quarry or heavy‑industrial setting.
• Good understanding of concrete and asphalt mix designs and quality‑control standards.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with strong attention to detail.
• Sound knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements in a quarry environment.
