Mobile Chemist

About the role

The Mobile Technical Services Chemist will coordinate hazardous waste collections from client facilities across the North West region. You will ensure safe handling, compliance with legislation, and timely delivery of waste to authorised disposal sites.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and collect hazardous waste from client sites and deliver to waste transfer facilities.
• Provide and maintain packing materials on‑site and ensure correct labeling and documentation.
• Assess, segregate, and pack waste in line with UK hazardous waste regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of waste collections and produce required compliance documentation.
• Load waste onto transport vehicles safely, operate company vehicle to disposal sites, and oversee safe off‑loading.
• Conduct risk assessments at client locations.
• Advise clients on best practices for waste storage and share responsibility for a well‑maintained waste store.

Required profile

• Minimum HNC level in Chemistry or a related discipline.
• Proven competence in handling and packing hazardous waste.
• Computer literate.
• EU driving licence held for at least two years.
• Self‑motivated, able to work autonomously and under pressure.
