Mobile Engineer – iOS or Android (Remote – UK)

About the role

We are partnering with an ambitious AI startup to build a next‑generation consumer product that blends intelligent automation, conversational AI and modern mobile experiences. As a Mobile Engineer you will join a small, high‑calibre team where mobile is at the core of the product, working remotely with occasional collaboration at our London office.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and ship native iOS or Android features from concept to production.
• Implement AI‑powered functionalities such as conversational interfaces, intelligent workflows and real‑time interactions.
• Collaborate with backend and machine‑learning engineers to create scalable, performant mobile services.
• Optimize application performance, responsiveness and reliability across varying network conditions.
• Contribute to product decisions and help shape the technical direction of the mobile platform.

Required profile

• Commercial experience building native mobile applications for iOS or Android.
• Proven track record of shipping production‑ready mobile apps.
• Strong appreciation for performance, usability and product quality.
• Interest in AI‑driven products and emerging mobile technologies.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating closely with cross‑functional engineers.

Required skills

• Swift and SwiftUI (for iOS) or Kotlin (for Android).
• Native mobile development frameworks and tooling.
• Integration of backend APIs and services.
• Understanding of mobile performance optimisation and error handling.
• Familiarity with AI or machine‑learning integration on mobile (beneficial).
