Mobile IT Engineer – Primary School Support (Oldham)

About the role

The Trust is expanding its IT services across five primary schools in Oldham and needs a Mobile IT Engineer to deliver first‑line support and maintain a wide range of educational technologies. You will work on‑site in each school one day a week, becoming a trusted member of the teaching team while being backed by a central IT department.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line technical support to staff and pupils, handling help‑desk tickets promptly.
• Install, configure, repair and upgrade hardware, software, audio‑visual equipment and bespoke educational tools.
• Maintain accurate asset registers and documentation for all IT assets.
• Support digital projects, including SharePoint site management and rollout.
• Ensure all systems comply with safeguarding, data protection and security standards.
• Collaborate with the wider IT team to drive continuous improvement of services.

Required profile

• Proven experience in first‑line IT support, preferably within the education sector.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Team‑oriented mindset with a passion for technology in schools.
• Own a reliable car and hold a valid UK driving licence.
