Mobile Vehicle Technician – South West

About the role

The RAC is expanding its Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division with a dedicated Mobile Vehicle Technician for the South West region. You will work from a fully equipped van, visiting members' homes or workplaces to perform scheduled servicing and repairs.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and comprehensive vehicle safety checks.
• Perform diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• Complete in‑depth repairs that would normally be done in a workshop.
• Provide members with advice and recommendations based on inspections.
• Manage a digital schedule of pre‑booked appointments, including occasional Saturday work.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with at least 2 years’ experience, or 5 years’ experience as a vehicle technician/mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 penalty points.
• Ability to work independently and follow a structured appointment system.
