Modern Foreign Languages Teacher

About the role

Reed Education is partnering with a welcoming secondary school in West Yorkshire to recruit a Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) teacher for the September 2026 start. The role involves teaching French and/or Spanish to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils, helping them develop strong communication skills and prepare for GCSE examinations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging MFL lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Develop students' speaking, listening, reading and writing abilities in French and/or Spanish.
• Prepare learners for GCSE French and/or Spanish assessments.
• Monitor progress, provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate records.
• Create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment.
• Contribute to enrichment activities, language clubs and school events.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Degree in French, Spanish, MFL or a related subject.
• Experience teaching MFL in a UK secondary school (experience at any level is welcomed).
• Strong classroom management and safeguarding awareness.

Required skills

• Ability to teach French and/or Spanish effectively.
• Passion for languages, culture and student achievement.
