Mortgage Completions Officer

About the role

The Mortgage Completions Officer will manage Buy‑to‑Let (BTL) mortgage applications from the formal offer stage through to legal completion and fund release. Acting as the primary liaison between underwriters, solicitors, brokers and landlords, the role ensures a seamless completion process while meeting all specialised lending conditions, legal requirements and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a pipeline of BTL mortgage offers from issuance to final drawdown, tracking critical dates to avoid expiries.
• Maintain real‑time data accuracy in internal systems with detailed case notes and status updates.
• Review, validate and sign off Certificate of Title (COT) documents received from conveyancing solicitors.
• Verify complex property structures such as HMOs, multi‑unit freehold blocks and limited company setups against offer conditions.
• Audit files to ensure all underwriting special conditions (corporate structures, personal guarantees, tenancy agreements) are satisfied before funding.
• Conduct mandatory Anti‑Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) checks on all parties involved.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing BTL mortgage applications from offer to completion.
• Strong understanding of legal and compliance requirements in mortgage lending.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with underwriters, solicitors, brokers and landlords.
