Mortgage Lending Operations Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Mortgage Lending Operations Manager to lead a team of underwriters and case managers in delivering high‑quality residential mortgage solutions. This hybrid role combines office‑based collaboration in central Glasgow with remote work, supporting the lender’s ambitious growth targets for 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end operational delivery of the residential mortgage underwriting process.
• Drive continuous improvement, efficiency, scalability and performance across the lending lifecycle.
• Oversee mortgage origination operations from pre‑application queries through packaging, underwriting support, mortgage offers and conveyancing queries.
• Ensure processes meet FCA regulatory requirements and maintain robust operational controls.
• Identify and eliminate bottlenecks, optimise case routing, tracking and completion.
• Collaborate with credit risk, sales, compliance, operations and technology teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing mortgage lending or similar financial operations.
• Strong knowledge of FCA regulations and mortgage underwriting workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team of underwriters and case managers.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on process optimisation.
