Motor Claims Handler

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Motor Claims Handler to join an insurance specialist in Chelmsford. The role involves managing motor insurance claims from initial notification through to final settlement, ensuring high‑quality service for policyholders and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Pro‑actively manage all stages of a motor claim from notification to conclusion.
• Deliver claims handling in line with company procedures and service standards.
• Investigate, assess and resolve claims promptly and professionally.
• Maintain and exceed customer expectations, handling any disputes that arise.
• Coordinate vehicle damage repairs using the dedicated network of repairers.
• Update claim information and maintain accurate records.
• Drive continuous improvement in service delivery.
• Respond to correspondence from customers, third parties, insurers and brokers.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience handling technical motor claims from “cradle to grave”.
• Strong technical insurance knowledge of third‑party, personal injury or accidental damage.
• Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive and enthusiastic attitude.
