Motor Claims Handler

About the role

The Motor Claims Handler will manage a personal caseload of litigated small, fast‑track motor claims and Ministry of Justice (MOJ) files for a range of clients. You will be responsible for driving each claim to settlement while adhering to client guidelines and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Handle a caseload of litigated motor claims to settlement.
• Develop case strategies based on client guidelines and available information.
• Assess liability and negotiate with clients and third‑party solicitors.
• Maintain accurate case, billing and management records.
• Allocate funds to client accounts and ensure proper payments.
• Conduct periodic file reviews and update reports.
• Meet performance targets and comply with ISO 9001 and SRA standards.
• Provide written updates to clients on case progress.

Required profile

• Minimum previous experience in a similar claims handling role.
• Experience handling litigated files and MOJ processes.
• Strong telephone negotiation and communication abilities.
• Understanding of relevant protocols and regulatory requirements.

Required skills

• Proficient IT skills.
