Motor Recoveries Associate

About the role

The Motor Recoveries Associate will manage sub‑rogated motor recovery work for a range of motor insurance clients. You will handle motor vehicle damage claims (no injury) and motor indemnity recovery claims, working independently on your own caseload while also supervising junior team members.

Key responsibilities

• Review, assess and allocate new instructions.
• Run an individual caseload of litigated motor recovery files.
• Meet court deadlines and manage files according to court timetables.
• Liaise with clients, insurers, third parties, policyholders and witnesses.
• Negotiate settlements and draft pleadings or other court documents.
• Supervise other file handlers and support their workloads.
• Perform any additional tasks required to efficiently run the caseload.

Required profile

• Experience handling pre‑ and post‑litigation recovery files for insurer clients.
• Proven track record in pursuing motor damage claims.
• Strong telephone and communication skills with stakeholders at all levels.
• Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and re‑prioritise under pressure.
• Attention to detail when dealing with repetitive tasks.
• Team‑player who can adapt to meet client service standards.

Required skills

• Good literacy and IT skills.
