Motor Technical Supervisor

About the role

The Motor Technical Supervisor will ensure that the Recoveries Litigation team delivers technically excellent work that meets the Recoveries Quality Framework and client expectations. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will oversee a caseload of SCT litigated claims, mentor staff and drive continuous improvement across processes.

Key responsibilities

• Handle a caseload of SCT litigated motor claims.
• Work with the Technical Manager to develop and embed best practice.
• Collaborate with team leaders, BUD, DBUD, Growth & Sales to meet client SLAs and KPIs.
• Supervise file handlers according to the competency framework and maintain accurate development records.
• Mentor and coach staff to enhance technical knowledge, reduce attrition and achieve performance targets.
• Identify training needs, provide feedback to the Technical Manager and deliver onboarding training.
• Review workflows, flag risks, emerging trends and areas of avoidable litigation.
• Recommend strategies to remove blockers, improve service quality and KPI performance.
• Support the Technical Manager in influencing team leaders and driving continuous improvement.
• Analyse IRFs to identify causes and trends and work towards swift resolution.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising claims or technical teams within a legal or recoveries environment.
• Strong understanding of motor litigation processes and the SCT claim lifecycle.
• Ability to mentor, coach and develop staff, including new starters.
• Excellent analytical skills to identify risks, trends and process improvements.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management across multiple business units.
