Motor Trade Development Executive

About the role

This position is focused on building a new portfolio of Motor Trade clients for an independent insurance brokerage. You will work autonomously, supported by a dedicated team, to generate new business and develop long‑term relationships with dealers, garages, body shops and recovery operators.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and target independent motor dealers, garages, body shops and recovery operators.
• Lead all new‑business activities, from prospecting to converting leads into long‑term clients.
• Deliver a consultative, professional approach to client engagement.
• Collaborate with internal teams that provide warm leads, inbound enquiries and marketing support.
• Provide tailored insurance solutions based on each client’s operational risks.
• Work primarily from home with occasional travel to the Stockport office.

Required profile

• Strong commercial insurance background with specific Motor Trade exposure.
• Proven track record of winning new business and developing client relationships.
• Solid technical understanding of Motor Trade risks and insurance solutions.
• Confident client‑facing skills and ability to build rapport quickly.
• Self‑motivated, commercially minded and able to work independently.
