Motor Vehicle Lecturer (Levels 1-3) – Full‑time

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Motor Vehicle Lecturer to join our Engineering and Motor Vehicle department at Shoreham Airport Campus. The role involves delivering practical, industry‑relevant teaching for Level 1 to Level 3 learners and supporting their progression into automotive careers.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality teaching and practical workshops across Motor Vehicle programmes (Levels 1‑3).
• Plan, prepare and deliver lessons that meet awarding body requirements.
• Assess learner progress through observations, assignments and examinations.
• Provide constructive feedback and support learners to achieve their potential.
• Maintain accurate learner records, attendance and assessment documentation.
• Offer tutorials, pastoral care and progression planning.
• Ensure workshop environments comply with health and safety regulations.
• Maintain and develop industry‑standard practical resources and equipment.
• Participate in curriculum development, quality improvement and departmental meetings.
• Build relationships with employers to enhance learner employability.

Required profile

• A Level 3 qualification (or higher) in Motor Vehicle, Automotive Engineering or a related discipline.
• Recent industry experience within the automotive sector.
• Teaching or training experience with Level 1‑3 learners (desirable).
• A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Commitment to delivering an outstanding learner experience.

Required skills

• Knowledge of current automotive technologies and workshop practices.
• Familiarity with hybrid and electric vehicle technologies.
