MPC Engineer – Machine Preparation Centre

About the role

We are seeking an MPC Engineer to join our Machine Preparation Centre in Immingham. In this hands‑on position you will prepare, inspect and commission new Volvo Construction Equipment machines to the highest safety and quality standards, ensuring they are ready for delivery to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out pre‑delivery inspections, machine preparation and commissioning activities, including fitting customer‑specified attachments and accessories.
• Perform software updates, complete documentation and input data into PDA systems accurately.
• Identify, report and help resolve defects or technical concerns, ensuring compliance with OEM and customer requirements.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in line with Health & Safety, COSHH, quality and environmental procedures.
• Support and mentor trainees, attend technical training and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Recognised engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2, City & Guilds) in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural Engineering, HGV Mechanics or a related field.
• Proven experience preparing, servicing or repairing heavy plant, construction or agricultural equipment.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems and ability to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Basic IT proficiency, including email, digital systems and technical documentation.
• Full UK driving licence is desirable; welding experience is an advantage.
