MRICS Building Surveyor

About the role

A leading independent property consultancy in Scotland is seeking a Chartered Building Surveyor to deliver a broad range of professional and project‑led services across commercial, residential and public sector projects.

Key responsibilities

• Refurbishment and redevelopment of commercial offices, retail units and mixed‑use schemes.
• Condition surveys and lifecycle assessments for diverse property portfolios.
• Dilapidations work for both landlords and tenants on high‑value commercial assets.
• Contract administration and project management for fit‑outs, renovations and upgrades.
• Technical due diligence for acquisitions and disposals.
• Work on historic and listed buildings, applying sensitive and informed approaches.
• Insurance reinstatement projects following damage.
• Client‑facing management of instructions from inception to completion.

Required profile

• MRICS qualified (or equivalent).
• Proven experience in building surveying across professional services and project work.
• Strong technical knowledge of construction, building pathology and contract administration.
• Experience handling commercial property instructions is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and client‑facing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Full UK driving licence.
