MS Dynamics NAV Support Technician with Systems Development

About the role

Aspinal of London are looking for an experienced Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017 Support Specialist with at least five years of hands‑on experience. The role serves as the first point of contact for NAV‑related incidents, owns system configuration, troubleshooting and continuous improvement, and works in a hybrid model attending the Fernhurst office.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1st and 2nd line support for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017 across finance, warehousing, sales, purchasing and inventory.
• Investigate, diagnose and resolve posting errors, dimension conflicts, ledger reconciliation and order processing failures.
• Configure chart of accounts, posting groups, VAT, item categories, inventory costing methods and warehouse locations.
• Manage user roles, permission sets and security filters.
• Work with SQL Server to query data, resolve integrity issues and support reporting requirements.
• Maintain and troubleshoot C/AL customisations and assist with upgrades, migrations and testing.

Required profile

• 5+ years hands‑on experience supporting Microsoft Dynamics NAV (preferably version 2017).
• Degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Systems or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience working on a helpdesk and strong documentation and communication skills.

Required skills

• Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017 (core finance, sales, purchase, inventory and warehouse modules).
• C/AL development and debugging.
• Microsoft SQL Server – writing queries, investigating data issues.
• Reporting tools such as SSRS, Jet Reports or Power BI.
• Understanding of NAV permissions, roles and security filters.
