Multi-Modal Operations Clerk – Freight & Customs

About the role

Our client, a well‑established logistics provider, is looking for a detail‑oriented Multi‑Modal Operations Clerk to manage ocean freight shipments and coordinate multi‑modal transport movements. The role is fast‑paced, customer‑focused and based in Colnbrook.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end ocean freight shipments, both import and export.
• Coordinate sea, road and air transport movements as required.
• Complete full and accurate customs entries in line with current regulations.
• Liaise with shipping lines, hauliers, customs authorities and internal teams.
• Provide exceptional customer service as the primary point of contact for clients.
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve issues or delays.
• Prepare and process invoicing and billing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain compliance with all relevant industry and customs regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in freight forwarding, with strong ocean freight knowledge.
• Ability to complete full customs entries independently.
• Familiarity with multi‑modal transport operations.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Experience with billing and invoicing processes.
