Multi Skilled Engineer – Building Services

About the role

Skanska is seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer to join the Building Services team at The Royal Derby Hospital. The role focuses on maintaining compliant, safe, and efficient electrical and mechanical systems that support patient recovery and hospital operations.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and statutory compliance tasks on low‑voltage electrical systems.
• Diagnose, test, and repair process control systems and automatic control devices linked to building services plant.
• Perform reactive investigations and repairs to ensure continuous operation of critical equipment.
• Use test and monitoring equipment to assess system performance and support fault diagnostics.
• Liaise with other trades to coordinate work activities and meet performance standards.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification with an electrical focus.
• Qualified electrician (18th Edition) with experience in complex electrical installations.
• Strong team‑working and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience in engineering services maintenance, preferably within healthcare facilities.
