Multi-Skilled Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Multi‑Skilled Engineer to join our Engineering team in Folkestone. You will play a pivotal part in improving plant performance, supporting new projects and ensuring reliable operation of production equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Drive overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and assist with new project initiatives.
• Maintain and repair processing and packaging machinery, following continuous‑improvement principles.
• Plan and execute reactive, preventive, and predictive maintenance tasks according to production schedules.
• Perform regular checks and tests on plant machinery to keep it within operational specifications.
• Uphold health, safety, quality and environmental standards, including the 17th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations.
• Support training of colleagues and develop training plans with management.
• Communicate equipment performance updates to engineering teams and contractors.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with processing and packaging machinery.
• Mechanical and electrical qualifications (City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 equivalent).
• Proven ability to troubleshoot PLC and robotic systems.
• Experience in reactive, planned, preventative and predictive maintenance.
• Knowledge of continuous‑improvement, SMED and basic Lean Six Sigma (yellow or green belt).
• Strong problem‑solving attitude, independent work capability and effective communication.
