Multi Skilled Engineer – Manufacturing Maintenance

About the role

Morrisons is seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer to join its manufacturing site in Grimsby. You will be responsible for keeping production equipment running efficiently, minimizing downtime and supporting continuous product delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on all production machinery.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns, diagnose faults and carry out repairs or coordinate external specialists.
• Execute machine adjustments and changeovers to sustain line efficiency.
• Monitor and calibrate equipment to meet quality, safety and accuracy standards.
• Collaborate with production teams to identify process‑improvement opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, schedules and spare‑part inventories.
• Ensure compliance with health‑and‑safety policies and relevant regulations.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (ONC, BTEC) in mechanical/electrical or electronic engineering.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems used in the FMCG sector.
• Understanding of HACCP principles; IEE wiring regulations (17th edition) desirable.
• Excellent communication and decision‑making abilities.
• Proactive attitude with a solid work ethic.
