Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer – Deeside

About the role

Gap Technical is seeking a multi‑skilled Maintenance Engineer to join an established manufacturing business at its Deeside facility. You will be responsible for keeping plant equipment safe, reliable and operating at peak efficiency through preventive maintenance, repairs and new installations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and carry out preventive maintenance programmes.
• Ensure all machines are safe, fit for purpose and meet health‑and‑safety standards.
• Perform repairs, overhauls and servicing of plant machinery to specification.
• Install new equipment and coordinate with contractors when required.
• Promote safe working practices and continuously seek process improvements.
• Attend training and development activities to enhance technical competence.

Required profile

• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good diagnostic and problem‑solving abilities.
• Interpersonal skills and the capacity to work with diverse teams.

Required skills

• Technical knowledge of food‑process equipment.
• Experience with wrapping machines.
• Welding and fabricating skills (desirable).
