Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a leading food‑grade packaging manufacturer in Darlington. You will be responsible for delivering engineering support, breakdown repairs and routine maintenance across the entire site.

Key responsibilities

• Apply best‑practice operating procedures while maintaining high health, safety, hygiene and quality standards.
• Carry out breakdown repairs on production equipment, plant and services as required.
• Support the "Agility" system, perform Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tasks and complete all related documentation.
• Maintain daily records of completed and pending work.
• Monitor store stock levels and usage.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties assigned by the Engineering Manager.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of experience in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
• ONC/HNC in Engineering or a recognised engineering apprenticeship.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematic drawings.
• Familiarity with Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) systems.

What we offer

• Salary of £48,503 per annum
• Three‑shift pattern (6‑2 / 2‑10 / 10‑6) with rotation starting Sunday night
