Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

About the role

Pharmaron is seeking a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join its Liverpool site. The role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and improving critical manufacturing and utility systems within a GMP‑controlled environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on manufacturing equipment, mechanical systems and critical site utilities.
• Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC systems supporting cleanrooms, laboratories and production areas.
• Maintain steam systems and associated distribution networks, including black steam, clean steam and compressed air.
• Support refrigeration plant, chilled water, ACU and other temperature‑controlled utilities.
• Maintain GMP utility systems such as Cold Water for Injection (CWFI) and pure steam.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and execute repairs to minimise downtime.
• Support HVAC qualification, validation and re‑qualification activities.
• Raise, manage and close maintenance work orders using the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Ensure accurate maintenance records in line with GMP requirements.
• Manage specialist contractors, review risk assessments, method statements and issue permits to work.
• Comply with GMP, GDP, health and safety standards and company procedures.
• Participate in engineering investigations, deviations, corrective actions, change controls and audits.

Required profile

• Experience working in a GMP‑regulated manufacturing environment.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical faults on critical equipment.
• Familiarity with pressurised systems, steam distribution, refrigeration and HVAC utilities.
• Competence in using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and handling work orders.
• Understanding of health, safety and regulatory compliance for engineering activities.
