Multi-Skilled Operative – Electrician

About the role

We are looking for a Multi‑Skilled Operative – Electrician to join Chime Housing’s Gateway Repairs Team in Watford. The role is permanent, 37 hours per week and involves delivering essential electrical repairs, maintenance and installations across our housing stock while providing a high level of customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out electrical installation, repair and maintenance work in occupied and void properties, including inspection and testing (EICRs).
• Deliver tasks from a pre‑allocated appointment system, ensuring efficiency and quality.
• Complete accurate reports using paperwork and handheld devices.
• Work closely with the Team Leader, escalating issues when required.
• Maintain compliance with current health and safety regulations and participate in an out‑of‑hours call‑out rota.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a similar electrical repairs and maintenance role.
• Strong understanding of health & safety regulations.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full, clean UK driving licence and willingness to hold a basic DBS check.
• 18th Edition certification (or working towards) and NVQ Level 3 in electrical installation.
