Multi Skilled Operative

About the role

FM Conway is expanding its asphalt manufacturing footprint into the Midlands with a brand‑new plant in Wellingborough. The Multi Skilled Operative will support day‑to‑day operations, ensuring the plant runs safely, efficiently and to high production standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the asphalt plant safely and efficiently to maximise production.
• Manage weighbridge activities, process deliveries and coordinate vehicle movements.
• Operate loading shovels, telehandlers, skid steers and other mobile plant equipment as required.
• Carry out daily inspections and basic maintenance of plant and equipment, reporting defects promptly.
• Maintain accurate production, weighbridge and plant operation records.
• Support stock management and material handling across the site.
• Perform routine housekeeping to keep the site clean, safe and well‑organised.
• Follow all company health, safety and environmental procedures.

Required profile

• Reliable, motivated team player with a hands‑on approach.
• Good communication skills and comfortable using computer‑based systems.
• Flexible attitude to support different areas of the operation.
• Full UK driving licence (essential).
