Multi Skilled Shift Engineer – £52,500 + Bonus + Overtime

About the role

We are seeking a Multi‑Skilled Shift Engineer to join a leading manufacturing site near Frome. The role operates on a 12‑hour day/night rota (2‑3‑2) and combines reactive and planned maintenance of process and packaging equipment. You will work closely with production teams to maximise plant reliability and minimise downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to equipment breakdowns, diagnose faults and restore machines to production quickly.
• Carry out planned preventative and corrective maintenance on a range of process and packaging assets.
• Maintain accurate work orders and records in the CMMS.
• Assist in developing and updating preventative maintenance schedules.
• Support engineering projects and equipment improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with production personnel to optimise machine performance and efficiency.

Required profile

• Recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC, HND or equivalent).
• Experience in food, FMCG or general manufacturing environments.
• Strong fault‑finding ability on both electrical and mechanical systems.
• Hands‑on experience with process or packaging machinery.
• Proactive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced shift environment.
