Multi-Skilled Site Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Multi‑Skilled Site Engineer to join our engineering team in Widnes. You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving mechanical and electrical equipment across a fast‑paced manufacturing site, ensuring reliability, efficiency and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production machinery and site equipment.
• Diagnose faults and repair mechanical and electrical systems to minimise downtime.
• Inspect equipment regularly and identify potential issues before they affect production.
• Maintain and repair pumps, motors, conveyors, compressors, gearboxes, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and HVAC equipment.
• Record maintenance activities and service reports accurately using CMMS.
• Perform root‑cause analysis on failures and implement corrective actions.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives by recommending upgrades and process changes.
• Collaborate with production, operations and engineering teams and assist with spare‑parts inventory.
• Mentor junior engineers and operators on best maintenance practices.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing, FMCG, food or similar industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical maintenance principles.
• Ability to work under pressure, communicate effectively and follow health & safety regulations.
