Multi-Subject SEN Teacher – Secondary School (Barking)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Multi‑Subject SEN Teacher to join our secondary special‑educational‑needs school in Barking from September. You will work with students aged 11‑19 who have a range of additional needs, delivering a variety of curriculum subjects in an inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons across multiple subjects, adapting content to individual learning styles.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing targeted feedback.
• Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, therapists and senior staff to support each pupil’s academic, social and emotional development.
• Maintain effective classroom management and ensure a safe, supportive learning atmosphere.

Required profile

• Proven experience teaching students with ASD, MLD, SLCN or SEMH.
• Strong classroom management and a nurturing, flexible approach.
• Ability to teach across different subject areas and adjust instruction for diverse needs.
