Multi Trade Operative – Kitchen Fitter

About the role

We are seeking a Multi Trade Operative – Kitchen Fitter to join a housing‑focused client in Eastleigh. The role supports a five‑year plan to create sustainable social housing, delivering high‑quality repairs and installations across a portfolio of properties.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out fault fixing, maintenance and repair work in customer homes.
• Perform carpentry, plumbing, masonry and plastering tasks to L2/3 NVQ standards.
• Use a Schedule of Rates for job costing and ensure accurate repair orders.
• Liaise with tenants and colleagues to communicate progress and actions.
• Maintain accurate paperwork and digital records via laptop or smartphone.
• Manage van stock, procure materials from approved suppliers, and keep the work vehicle clean and safe.
• Provide out‑of‑hours emergency call‑outs as required by the rota.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a similar multi‑trade role, preferably within housing or social‑care environments.
• Ability to work safely, following health and safety legislation, risk assessments and method statements.
• Willingness to assist other trades and undertake additional training to broaden skill set.
