Multi-Trade Operative – Property Maintenance

About the role

Axis CLC is seeking experienced Multi‑Trade Operatives to join its Anchor Contract team covering Peterborough, Cambridge and East Anglia. You will deliver responsive repairs and routine maintenance across a large portfolio of social housing, ensuring homes are safe, comfortable and well‑maintained.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out high‑standard plastering repairs (NVQ Level 2 required).
• Perform plumbing repairs and minor installations.
• Complete carpentry tasks, including repairs and basic joinery.
• Undertake a wide range of general property maintenance duties.
• Diagnose faults and provide lasting solutions.
• Work both independently and as part of a wider team.
• Maintain safety, quality and customer‑service standards.
• Use PDA/mobile systems to receive and record job information.

Required profile

• Strong plastering ability (NVQ Level 2).
• Working knowledge of plumbing and carpentry.
• Experience in tenanted/social housing environments.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Full UK manual driving licence (≤6 points).
• Asbestos Awareness certificate.
• CSCS card preferred (training can be provided).
• Willingness to undergo DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK.
