Multi Trader – Reactive Maintenance for Social Housing

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Multi Trader to join a well‑established social housing contractor’s reactive maintenance team. You will be responsible for day‑to‑day repairs across occupied social housing properties in Watford, Luton, Bedford, Cambridge and Welwyn Garden City.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out a range of reactive maintenance and repair works within occupied social housing properties.
• Perform multi‑trade repairs including basic carpentry, plumbing, tiling, patch plastering and decorating.
• Diagnose faults and aim for first‑time fixes wherever possible.
• Maintain high standards of safety, quality and efficiency on every job.
• Provide courteous customer service while working in tenants’ homes.
• Accurately record work using a PDA or mobile device.
• Keep company van stock, tools and equipment in good condition.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Multi Trader in social housing or domestic reactive maintenance.
• Competent across carpentry, plumbing, tiling and general repairs.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the covered area.
