Multi‑Skilled Engineer

About the role

Our client, a leading fresh‑produce company in Tonbridge, is looking for two Multi‑Skilled Engineers to join their operations team. You will play a pivotal part in keeping plant and building equipment running efficiently, minimising downtime and supporting a safe working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out fault finding, planned and preventative maintenance on plant and equipment to maximise reliability.
• Assist with installation, relocation and commissioning of new or existing equipment according to manufacturer standards and agreed timescales.
• Respond to assistance requests, diagnose issues, perform root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Manage parts requisition, maintain accurate stock records and ensure timely ordering of unavailable components.
• Document all work, update relevant systems and keep records audit‑ready.
• Identify, design and fabricate equipment improvements and support building maintenance, including fire‑alarm testing.
• Share knowledge with engineering and operations staff and adhere to food‑safety and health‑and‑safety policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an engineer in fresh‑produce, FMCG or similar manufacturing environments.
• Strong ‘right first time’ work ethic with systematic root‑cause analysis skills.
• Ability to work proactively, communicate effectively with operations and manage downtime impact.
