Multi‑Skilled Engineering Chargehand

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Multi‑Skilled Engineering Chargehand to join the Engineering team at the Rocks Dryer site in St Austell, Cornwall. The role is site‑based, supporting a wide range of fixed plant and processing equipment and, when required, other Cornwall locations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and provide reactive breakdown support for plant equipment.
• Coordinate work activities, handovers and support shutdown planning.
• Work closely with Operations, Engineering colleagues and external contractors to ensure plant availability.
• Maintain site compliance and uphold safety as the top priority.

Required profile

• Proven multi‑skilled engineering experience in an industrial environment.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate chargehand responsibilities.
• Strong focus on health and safety and reliable execution of maintenance tasks.

Required skills

• Preventive maintenance of plant and processing equipment.
• Breakdown response and troubleshooting.
• Coordination of maintenance activities and shift work.
