Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)

About the role

We are seeking a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to join a rapidly growing manufacturer in Gateshead. The role focuses on maintaining automated production equipment, ensuring high machine uptime and supporting continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production machinery.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults, including PLC fault finding.
• Perform reactive maintenance and fault finding as required.
• Work closely with production teams to uphold manufacturing standards.
• Contribute to equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias.
• Experience in food manufacturing, FMCG or fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
• Recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent).
• Live locally or willing to commute to Gateshead.
